Aliquor bases gourmet restaurant. But I like all the attention to detail in the setting and the food descriptions, plus the ruthless Guy Fiere stand in that mentors the main characters as they open their own restaurant.
Rickey has ambition though while G-Man is the more stabilizing force of their partnership. Some of the characters are rather flat. Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1. Overall a perfect gem of a book and even though it was the second opppy you wouldn’t have known, Briye would like to read the other books in the series but don’t know if they may ruin this one as to be this book was so perfect.
No one remembered much of this night, but by the end of it, two cars were totaled, the sous chef and the bartender were in Charity Hospital, the chef was in jail, and the grill guy’s wife was filing for divorce.
I started reading this series backwards and read he third book in the brute, Soul Kitchenabout a year ago.

The bio says she is married to a chef, but she must have at least waited on tables or worked in kitchens somehow because there’s stuff in here that I don’t think someone could just research. The characters we meet in this curious underworld including the hilariously named critic Chase Haricot are what drives the plot, since there is relatively little structure which is not a criticism; it works well for this kind of novel. Although Brite made her name with horror, she has worked in restaurants herself and is married to a chef, and clearly sees the possibilities of the enclosed and private world inhabited by people in the restaurant business. So far, this book is a big departure from Brite’s earlier work.

They felt like a normal couple with dry spells, frustrations, arguments, and romance but also with a sense of two men that are in love and this is it for them.

I may just rip through the rest of the series. This is also a book which left me hungry: I say that because this book is the coziest piece of fiction by Poppy that I’ve ever read. General FictionMystery. A Walk Through Fire.
S Yeah, I’ve been pretty meh about the writer these days nothing to do with his lifestyle choices, just so you know; it’s more of a personal thing so I’m not sure what made me pick popph books up again, but damn I still love me some PZB.
It’s a lot of fun to read, especially for food lovers and those curious about the inner workings on the restaurant craziness.
